Pictures disappear after uploading!
-
Dear wordpressers,
I’ve encounted a frustrating problem, that suddenly came up a week ago or so. After I have uploaded photos (either directly into a post, or through the media library), they become invisible. In the media library, the filename, and a file URL, exist, but the picture itself is missing. In it’s place is a image placeholder showing this “broken-path-picture”. And the same goes for the posts – everything looks allright but the picture, it is just non-existing. The file URL points to a folder that doesn’t exist.
When I upload the picture, everything seems fine, there’s no error messages or anything.
So – I’ve tried to trouble-shoot this as good as I can. First I’ve updated WordPress to 3.2. Then I tried uploading an image to the media library. With Cyberduck I downloaded the blog to my computer, to search for this new image (in case it ended up somewhere else than in my uploads-folder). No luck there, it doesn’t show up.
Then, to count out an ftp-problem, I installed a new theme and downloaded the site via ftp. The new theme sits in it’s theme folder, but the folder that WordPress says it has created for my new images isn’t there…
One last test – I uploaded a couple of images, at least 4 MB heavy, to the blog. After getting the blog to my computer via ftp the size is still 19.2 MB, the same size as my copy from before I uploaded the images.
Conclusion – somewhere my images get lost in space after leaving my computer. WordPress says that they exist, even that there is a folder that exist. But neither folder nor images show up when trying to find them through Chrome, Firefox or via ftp.
I would be very grateful for any help on this!

I’m using the Oulipo 1.0.9.2 theme.
