I am trying to set up a new website for a non-profit (pro bono). I am experienced with using WordPress, but am not technically competent to get into the code (I use a theme and plug-ins as provided).

I have added 3 child pages to the parent page About Us. They are not showing up as subnavigation ((when I hover over the About Us tab, there is no dropdown for the child pages).

Is this a theme specific feature? I’ve done this with other themes and it has worked fine.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Im guessing that when you say you added child pages, you just selected the parent page for them in the page editor. Have you actually created a navigation menu? or is just pulling it in automatically? Take a look under appearance > menus. If you see that, go in and create a menu. You should be able to drag and drop page to make them subpages of others.

Thank you for your help. This theme doesn’t support menus “natively.” I was able to create a custom menu widget that will put my dropdown pages in the sidebar. Not the most elegant, but may be all that I can do. I think that this is a theme issue. I’ve worked with other themes and the dropdown was created anytime I made a page a child page. We like this theme because of the background, but I may need to look for another one.
