• *cries* i have no idea where this came from. I was making a new page (using wp admin) and i was uploading a forum (punbb) and then i took a quick nap. When i came bak i went to try to view the forum (i didnt really read any instructions yet) and this message poped up.

    CGI Timeout
The specified CGI application exceeded the allowed time for processing. The server has deleted the process.

I then tried to goto my site (wp) and it kept the same message. I the hosting w/ 2 other people. One person codes in ASP and the other uses html, only screwed up is the php forum and my wordpress stuff. I was wondering how i can get this fixed… like if i pm the hostin company can they set up a time limit to dump stuff like they did when i tried using MS for a database.

nm, host fixed it! still no idea wha it happened

Your host most probably runs PHP as a CGI application. This provides the added security you witnessed in that any PHP functionality that goes astray will get killed without taking down the whole host.

So either it could be a misconfigured PHP or your application might be misconfigured.

    Regards
