• Hello.

First off, this is a great program, and the support is amazing, so thank you.

Here’s my question – I am using the Desert Theme. I want to get rid of the words “Dimension 2K – Desert Theme” on the right side of the header, but I can’t find the code string to remove it.

What would this be called and where can I find it?

I just don’t want people to think my page has anything to do with Dimension 2K. Thank you again.

  • What is Dimension 2k and why do you want to remove it? Link to your site?

Dimension 2K is the origination site for the theme. The words are part of the header graphic IIRC, and had I been in the mood, I’d have tweaked the graphic to remove them. But I wasn’t in the mood…. and it’s silly for them to be part of the header graphic in the first place, so that’s why I’m not using an otherwise nifty theme…..

so it’s actually part of the header graphic, rather than a link? Probably not too hard to clean up in something like paint.net or other useful paint tool.

Hello again. If the words are part of the header graphic, how do I remove them?

right click the header, and save the image, then open your favourite paint package and remove it. i don’t know how complex the image is and how the text is embedded into it. Failing that contact the author and ask them to remove it and provide a titleless header.

How would I then put it back on my site in its new, improved version?

I can’t right-click and save the image. Not an option, apparently.

Vkaryl, do you know how to get rid of the Dimension 2K words?

Yeah, I do. I just didn’t want to bother with it. Before I see if I can get it done without a lot of fuss, why don’t you email the theme author and ask him if he can provide the graphic without the words?

If the answer is no, or he doesn’t answer, post back and I’ll take a look at it again.

Edit: nah, nev’mind. I’ll just do it, so I’ll need an email to send it to.

Wasn’t a big deal, it’s the lizard that caused me some heartburn earlier I guess, but if you don’t mind the lizard, the words are gone…. Where you want it sent?

Added: Apparently I’m more in the mood now – if you want it without the lizard, I have that too.

Another thing you’ll need to know to use this theme: it doesn’t include some of the logical files. You’ll need to load from the default or another theme where they’re included the following files: comments.php (and comments-popup.php if you use it); archive.php; search.php; and searchform.php.

I found that it gives errors if you don’t have theses files in the uploaded distro. Not sure why – I would have thought that it would look for the templates in the logical place, but apparently not….

Of course, YMMV, depending. Every install is different.

    Thank you again for everything.

    No problem…. on its way.

I use the desert theme at https://www.wildernessvoices.org.
Using GIMP I was able to determine exact dimensions for the graphic and then crop and alter some graphics I purchased at iStock photo to fit. I spent hours working on removing the text before deciding that “replace” was a far lesser pain than “modify”.

Using the most excellent support found here I then randomized several different pictures to appear.

GIMP is a good tool, multi-platform and free.
