Homepage doesn't show up

Try using https://bretstradamus.com/wordpress/

When you click on the “home” button it takes you to the page that says “This site is under development”. I tried changing the settings under Reading>Front Page Displays, but this hasn’t helped.

Try actually publishing some posts and the message will disappear.

I made a couple posts, but the homepage doesn’t seem to have changed.

What are you using as your front page in Settings -> reading?

It’s on the default “latest posts”. I’ll try changing that again.

It still doesn’t take me to the right page. On the test page I made for the homepage, it says the permalink is https://bretstradamus.com but when I click on that it still takes me to the “This site is under construction” page.

What urls are entered in Settings -> General?

The urls are both https://bretstradamus.com

And where is WordPress installed on your domain? In the root of the domain or it’s its own wordpress folder?

I believe it’s in the root of the domain. I installed it using simplescripts with my hosting service instead of installing it as described in the 5-minute install since the simplescripts looked easier.

You need to check – because something was changed on this site after WordPress was installed.

Yes, my wordpress files are installed in the root folder. Do you think I should uninstall it and try it the way that’s described in the 5-minute install?

I think that would probably be the simplest option than trying to untangle what has happened with this install.

Okay, I’ll try that and hopefully things will be working. Though, I think for me it will end up being a 5-hour install, haha. Thanks for all your help!
