Plugins installed correctly but don't show

I installed through the ‘Upload’ and ‘Install’ functions around 10 apps which said were installed ‘successfully’ yet every time none would appear under plugins in my dashboard except the two default ones. I haven’t touched my default theme and I check the wordpress/wp-content/plugins.. directory and all the plugins show up. Any help would really be appreciated.
