Static frontpage option gone

  • What happened to the static front page option. It’s suddenly gone in my cp. It was there when I started my site earlier today and I did the regular settings.

    Now it’s disappeared and when arriving to my site which in fact only is one static page so far it states that the page can not be found.

    I’ve done this like a billion times and never experienced anything similar the only settings on reading settings page now is blog pages show at most and so on. The option of a static page is completely vanished!!

    I even uninstalled the thing and reinstalled my WP and it looked fine and then the same thing happened.

  • Have you tried:
    – deactivating all plugins (yes, all) to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s). Don’t forget the ones in mu-plugins. If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
