What version of WordPress do I download for MAC OSX?

  • Either one of the .zip or .tar.gz versions that is located at the download link above is what you will need.

    Just a reminder, WordPress is a web application, not an executable that will run from your desktop. If you plan to set it up locally on your Mac, you must have a properly functioning server environment that includes php, MysQL and apache in order for WordPress to work.

    You can get a fully setup Webserver, database server and php setup with either xamp or mamp google them and decide which one you prefer.
