Vacation Template with Photo Calendar

Hi all!

I am really new at the WordPress thing and I know absolutely NOTHING about anything… I have been “googling” everything and it has been pretty hard for me to accomplish what I want with my limited knowledge. That’s where you lovely people come in to play…

My wife and I just came back from a 23-day European vacation and we took almost 5,000 pictures. My thought was to put up a website for friends and family to browse the many pictures we took. I was thinking of some calendar on which people can click and view the pictures by day.

I am looking more for a static/informational website versus a blog website.

Do you guys have themes you would recommend? I really want to do the calendar thing…

Any help is much appreciated. Hope my newbie talk makes sense to you all!
