• Hi,

I’m getting really frustrated trying to install a new theme on my bbpress forum in wordpress. I keep seeing that I have to create a directory called my-templates/ in bbPress’ root directory. How do I do this? I think I need a set by step guide as I’ve been trying for the last few hours with no luck. I’m working on a macbook if that helps.

    Thanks.

  • I am facing the same problem it drives me mad.

As far as I understood the my-templates way to add a theme is the old way. This folder does not exist and you manually have to create it and then throw the folder of your theme. I did that but that did not work.

I found this link that was created to help however it does not say how to it: https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-20-theme-compatibility

If you manage to overpass this problem please give tell me what you did!

I also have been having the same problem.

I heard the bbPress plugin was simple to use. It is easy to use WHEN YOUR THEME SUPPORTS IT. If not, you have to add theme compatibility. Which would be all nifty-keen, except the bbPress forum about this topic is not detailed enough for us newbies.

Note: I have wordpress 3.4 for anyone wondering/needing this info
