WordPress Localization – how it works????

  • OK, I have localized my plugin like crazy, and have a few translators willing to help out, but I may have understood how localization works.

    I know if I change WP_LANG in wp-config.php, I change the base language of my site and it will be displayed accordingly.

    But what if I leave WP_LANG as the default (en_US), but the users browser language is set to something else (fr_fr for instance)?

    I had assumed localization would have kicked in, but it doesn’t seem to (I traced thru the code).

    Have I missed something? Is WP_LANG the only driver of translations?
