• Hi,

I have a test site that was looking fine as of a few hours ago, but suddenly the navigation bar is all bunched up over on the left side and in 3 lines, instead of being spread evenly as one line on the top, the way it was before:

The theme I’m using has Cufon as well as Nivo Slider. I’ve always had the slider disabled because it considerable slowed down the load time, but the Cufon is enabled. Not sure if either of these features is messing up the navbar, but i doubt it since it was all working fine before.

I’d appreciate any guidance on how can i fix the navbar so it’s properly aligned at the top.

    Thanks in advance.

  • What navigation menu? I can’t see anything obviously wrong on the site.

I was just playing around with it trying to fix the problem.

You can see it if you refresh the link.

Thanks, I’d appreciate any help. It was working fine this morning.

Start by sorting out the markup errors (you have quite a few missing closing tag). Then move onto the CSS errors.

Thanks, but that’s a little overwhelming as a solution. Can you be a little more specific? The link you sent me to is quite elaborate and just confused me more. And I’m not even sure it addresses my problem.

And where are you seeing all these errors you’re talking about?
    FireBug only found one error.

I just want to get the navbar working again. Everything was fine earlier so I don’t want to go back right now and fix things that aren’t broken.

A more targeted answer would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry but it’s not “a solution”. Right now, it’s “The Solution”. The links I gave above lead to report from the W3C validators – THE definitive markup & CSS validation service. If you intend to develop any kind of quality site, you should learn to love and use these tools regularly. Firebug doesn’t validate markup or CSS.

Thanks, but what’s up with the tone?!

Seriously– a little friendliness never killed anyone.

I’ve gotten assistance from others on this forum before & none were this snippy.

I’d rather wait for someone a little nicer, thank you. I’ll figure it out either way.

    Have a nice day.

Btw, I just ran validation and all the errors are quite minor and completely unrelated to the problem i posted about.
