Allow File Type uploads

<Network Admin -> Settings -> Allowed file types.

And check the boxes to allow various file uploads.

Hmm.. I am still getting an error:

Right now, my Upload path is “wp-content/blogs.dir/4/files”

According to This article, it should be /wp-content/uploads.

Which is right?

What should I be changing? I tried changing the Upload path to /wp-content/uploads but I got the same error

this is correct for the 4th site in your network.
Do not change the upload file path.

This means you need to go to your file system and see if:
a) that folder is there
b) what permissions are on it.

change if needed – on the SERVER, not in WP.

What is the parent directory? I made all files “writeable” under ftp. What do you refer to by the “server”

How do I open blogs.dir? and what folder am I checking for?

blog.dir is a FOLDER. check permissions on that folder.

If you do not know how to do this, ask your host.

Ok, in my ftp, I set up 2 files. One is called “Blogs.dir” and I cannot open it. The other is a folder called “blogs”

My Multisite is working everything except the uploading…. Am I missing something here?

blogs.dir, a folder, all lowercase.

Make it permissions 777. If you can’t open it, neither can WP, and that’s your problem right there.

I am confused. I created a file called blogs.dir, where .dir is the extension. I cannot open this file because a .dir is not common. If I try to name a folder “blogs.dir” it won’t let me as you cannot include ‘.’ in the file name. I also have a regular folder called “blogs” but that’s not working. How do you set this up? I’m sure this is simple.

No, blogs.dir is a *folder*.

If you cannot create this as a folder name, talk to your host.

This is where image uploads are stored.

Delete the file.

Are you on a Windows server or a Unix server? Unix will permit you to make a folder with a . in it, but Windows may not.
