[Plugin: Table of Contents Creator] Selective Category Links in TOCC

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had mastered the include/exclude terminology over at the authors site. (https://markbeljaars.com/plugins/tocc-plugin/) I tried posting a comment over there, but there haven’t been any new comments published to the site since Dec 2010 so it never showed up.

I’m trying to only include 5 posts from each category in the table of contents but I am not having any luck with the short codes. Has anyone implemented this successfully? If so, I’d be extremely appreciative if you shared what you used for your short code.
