Query about submitting a theme

  • Form the WordPress theme repository policy:

    All themes are subject to review. Themes from sites that support non-GPL (or compatible) themes or violate the WordPress community guidelines themes will not be approved.

    Does this mean if I submit a GPL-licensed theme here, and the THEME URI links to my personal site which also has info about non-GPL themes, the policy is violated???
    What I’m implying is that the actual THEME URI will link to a post on my personal site where i describe the theme and give a link to support forum, etc. But, the site itself will also have articles about non-GPL licensed themes.

  • Try asking about this on the theme reviewers mailing list but I doubt you’ll have a problem. The point you reference is there to stop commercial developers submitting a theme that really just promotes their commercial theme site.
