    Hello,

I unsuccessfully tried to create a child theme and then activated it. Now the back end of WordPress is totally blank because the broken theme is still applied.

Is there a file somewhere that shows which theme is currently applied to WordPress that I can change with a text editor back to the original unbroken theme?

    Thanks,
    Blake

  • One option is to FTP into your site and remove the broken theme. WordPress will then revert back to using the default theme and you will be able to access the back end again.

    Awesome, it worked!

I had to delete the child them as well as the original theme. Then, I activated the 2010 theme just to get everything reset. After that, I put the original (non-child) theme back in the themes folder and activated it. Now, everything works just fine. For a while there I thought I was going to have to create a whole new database and directory.

    Thank you for your help!
