NextGEN Gallery: add sort by (ex. date, alphabetical) to the front end of site

  • I am using NextGEN Gallery (Fantastic plugin by the way!) and I am wondering if it is possible to add a function who lets the front end user sort the images in a gallery on a page by different parameters, eks: date, alphabetical etc.

    Maybe in a widget or something saying “sort by name” “sort by newest”

    Has anyone done this?

    Any ideas?

    Any help would be much appreciated ??

    Is there a simple way to do this?

    This would be awesome! Perhaps those of interested in this feature could all chip in $$ and hire Alex (sponsor the feature, if you will) to incorporate this in the next update, or if he’s not available hire another developer. I am trying to do this with my limited php knowledge and will share freely if I can come up with a solution.
