[Plugin: Events Manager] Event Manager – Can't delete any events

  • I’m having an issue deleting any event from Event Manager. We created a recurring event but it showed up three times on each day. I installed the latest version of Event Manager (4.16) but that didn’t fix the issue. I can edit the event but not delete.

    It seemed to all start when we added a recurring event. It made 4 entries per day and we tried to go back and delete the extras but it’s not working.

  • do you get any errors? what version did you create those recur events? did you try creating recur event in 4.16 then deleting it. does it work?

    There is no error at all when trying to delete event from main event screen. It pops up the message “are you sure you want to delete” and I say yes but it doesn’t actually do anything. I can’t delete regular events or recurring events. I created a new test event in 4.16 and it won’t let me delete that one either.

    I’m not sure what version we had before I upgraded. I didn’t pay attention to that unfortunately. I’m guessing there is a plugin conflict but I’ve turned off everything I can and nothing seems to fix the issue.

    can you change to default theme also and deactivate other plugins. Also if you can post a sample image of your site (the issue) and if you are using buddypress or multisite

    Here is the calendar after I defaulted to the main theme. https://www.saint-paul-school.org/news-events/calendar/. Notice on Sept 19, all the event No Student Bar is present too many times. When we created the event, somehow it duplicated itself. That’s when we tried to delete the extras and it wouldn’t allow us to do it. Can we reinstall the Event Calendar plugin? Do plugins get corrupt?

    well, if you can delete those events then give it a test again or reinstall the plugin but deactivate other plugin first.

    I deactivated all other plugins and retested but nothing is working. Question: If I delete the Event Manager plugin and reinstall will it pick up any of the events posted to it? I’m guessing not. The problem is that the school has entered in information into the calendar for the next year and to lose all of that info would be very bad.

    Any suggestions please?

    if you can backup your events thru the mysql (not including the duplicated event) then reinstall EM or try it first on your local (if possible)

    when you delete, are you able to check the php logs to see if any errors come up? something’s obviously not working there.
