My links are not linking well

I have my logo image linked to the homepage with an anchor tag, so that when clicked from any page it links to the root. The problem is that it only works when I’m in the root. Whener I’m in a page like “website.com/about/” it links to “website.com/about/index” instead of “website.com/index”.
