Permalink nightmare

Hi,

I did an update and at the same time migrated to a new server. The result was a loss of some uploads (no big deal) and the permalinks reverting back to the “ugly” permalinks. I went in and did the change but all of my pages went away, as far as a search was concerned. When I changed back to the defauly, ugly, permalinks, all was well. The problem is that the search engines don’t know the new links and I’m using this for marketing.

Anyone that can help with details on how to fix this will go to the top of the “hero” list.
