Puzzled Photographer [Trying to develop existing theme] & A WordPress Portfolio

I have my website with WordPress installed. I have installed the theme I want to use, however, it is giving me two pictures on my page instead of just one as the original theme shows. I installed it without editing anything and I’m not getting an appealing result.

As you will be able to see, I have two images on my page instead of just one. Also, I have not been able to add the “About” menu option at the top right. And I also want to put a logo in the header rather than what it is now. Or, alternatively, do you know of any other photography portfolio themes which showcases a picture a time with “previous” and “next” buttons that is easier to customize?

Could you please help me with any of these elements? I would be completely grateful. I wish the website could be done, so I can start uploading my pictures without having to worry about it. Coding’s not my thing.
