[Plugin: WP-Polls] Poll not working

I had the poll working, but deleted the code from my page. Then I set up a poll widget instead and it just displayed the previous results but does not allow the user (logged in or not) to vote. I have checked all the setting and can see no reason why this is happening. Can anyone advise please?
