I am unable to login to my admin page. I am able to view my login page but when I enter my username and password I am redirected to https://www.krampkouture.com/wp-admin/ which gives me a 404 error. I was told by GoDaddy that this error may be due to a plugin or theme download. I recently downloaded a plugin but deactivated and deleted it.

I have tried several options from this site: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Login_Trouble but no solution. I tried deleting my htaccess file, clearing cookies and cache, deactivating themes, and disabling plugins.

I have noticed that this is a common issue. Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I try updating my WordPress to v3.2.1?

That 404 isn’t a WP one. I would go in via FTP and make sure the wp-admin folder is still there!

https://www.krampkouture.com/wp-login.php loads, but without CSS, which is gets from wp-admin, so odds are that whole folder is missing.

Looking at my database it looks like I have 2 wp-admin folders. One is located within my html folder and another located within the wp-includes folder. Should I delete the folder located within the wp-includes folder?

I deleted the admin folder within the wp-includes folder. My website is still running but I am still no longer able to login to my WordPress dashboard. Perhaps I should edit the login.css code?

You should only have ONE wp-admin folder and it should be the same level as the wp-includes (not inside it).

Download a fresh copy of WP to your computer.

DELETE wp-admin and wp-includes (trust me here)

UPLOAD those folders from the download.

    Try now.

After downloading a copy of WordPress to my computer, uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders to my FTP, and upgrading to the latest version of WordPress I was able to log in to my account. Thank you for your help!

    Hello,

I am alos having trouble getting into my account. I changed the password because I thought that might help when I finally did get in. It made things worse because now I can’t get in with the old and the new password. What’s worse is when I click on forgot password and type in my email address, it get a message that says: The e-mail could not be sent.
Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function…

    HELP!!!!
