Inserting and formatting WordPress directly through MySQL

I need to create/update WordPress pages directly from MySQL. Our company wants to pass product data from a ColdFusion site dynamically into WordPress, which we chose because employees want a CMS that’s easy to work with. I think we found a way to convert the CF database over to MySQL but now we just need a way to pass the data into WordPress, format pages and create them on the fly.
I found a tutorial at web-design101 but unfortunately it didn’t work when I tried it. Any help or referrals to a tutorial would be great. Thanks.
