WordPress and Site URL loop issue

    I’ve messed up. Setting up a new site I’ve just set my wordpress/home address to my hosting space and my site url to my domain. Now when I log in it just looks me constantly back to my wp-admin page.
    How can I resolve this? I’ve read this: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL but I’m not sure exactly what methodology I should be using. Is it better to edit the config or the functions.php?

    Try it with the functions.php method.

    Did the functions.php thing. Got this:
    Fatal error: Call to undefined function sanitize_option() in /home/lmaloney/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 526

    Ideas?

    have given up and reinstalled wordpress based on another thread where the same issues arose. Thanks for the help anyway ??
