• Hey there,

I am trying to add an ecommerce store to my band’s website. The site was running fine as usual (on Thesis theme), then I activated the WP eCommerce plugin and now the site’s appearance is thrown off (different sizing, sidebar widgets not appearing, etc).

I’ve updated both Thesis and the WP e-Commerce plug-in, but to no avail.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

  • Have you checked in the Thesis support forum? It could be the way the plugin interacts with your theme stylesheets – Thesis doesn’t work in the same way as typical WordPress themes. The plugin may use css IDs that are conflicting with Thesis?

Totally could be. Though I don’t really have any complex .css going on. Maybe one header/background code. Moreover, I used wp-ec on another very similar thesis site and experienced no problems. I’m wondering if it has something to do with this message that I’m getting on my wp backend when on the “WP E-Commerce” tab:

WP e-Commerce is ready. If you plan on editing the look of your site, you should update your active theme to include the additional WP e-Commerce files. Click here to ignore and remove this box.

And if I click the hyperlink associated with “update your active theme to include the additional….” I’m taken to a Store Settings page with the following Advanced theme settings listed:

Some Theme files have been moved to your WordPress Theme Folder.

WP e-Commerce provides you the ability to move your theme files to a safe place for theming control. If you want to change the look of your site, select the files you want to edit from the list and click the move button. This will copy the template files to your active WordPress theme.

    compatibility.css
    wpsc-category_widget.php
To change the look of certain aspects of your shop, you can edit the moved files that are found here:

    Thoughts?
    And thanks for the help!
