Theme files deleting themselves when I update them

  • This doesn’t happen every single time I update a theme file, but sometimes, when I edit a file (like style.css) and then save, the page will refresh and all the information I have will be deleted.

    I am using a custom theme that I made. My website is https://www.liliripe.com

    I’ve tried re-installing WordPress, and the problem went away for a while, but now it’s back.

    I’ve tried uploading my theme files in an FTP program, but all uploads “fail” until WordPress starts working again, and by that time I can once again edit themes through my Dashboard without them deleting themselves.

    It’s very strange. Any help? Thanks.

  • I would try to get the FTP issue sorted out first. I think that perhaps there’s a server issue.

    Have you tried contacting your hosting company? You should be able to upload files via FTP using a program like Filezilla. I think that once you can do that, the issue should resolve itself.
