Easy way to duplicate a blog?

  • Hey!
    I have a blog written in portuguese on a domain, and my idea is to duplicate the blog and host it on a subdomain (www.en.analognights.com) so i can translate it to english.

    What is the easiest way to do this? I want to export everything – the theme and the posts (so i can translate them over time).

  • XCloner promises to do this, but I couldn’t acomplish it without editing the mysql files (search and replace -> old domain for new domain)

    on the other hand, you’ll have to maintain two sites (updates, uploads, configs, etc) that are identical… maybe a multilingual plugin would serve you better

    Qtranslate has a feature to use subdomains, although i’ve never used it

    Oh nice!
    In the meantime i deleted my subdomain through MediaTemple’s interface and It seems that I have deleted my primary database in the process !

    Thank you so much for your help anyway! I’ll definitly have a look on Qtranslate!
