Having trouble getting it installed on network solutions.

Created the database, entered via ftp and there were some files in there home.htm and a few image files….deleted them.

Uploaded all wordpress files in to the root. Went to the domain to begin the installation and the network solutions under construction page is still up there.

I have the domain pointed (also at network solutions) to the hosting package and NOT the under construction page.

Can’t seem to get to the installation page yet alone do the install itself.

Even changed the wp confige sample file in notepad to reflect the database settings but it does nothing.

I think it has something to do with where to change the index page in network solutions possibly … or finding another way to get to the install page of wordpress itself. Normally I install wordpress on my own hosting account, ftp upload, go to the domain and its right there to begin the install.

    Not this time ??

Thanks for reading and any help you can provide.

  • Hi,

It looks like they have some instructions on how to re-point the account

    https://www.networksolutions.com/support/configure-under-construction-page/

You might also try going to yourdomain.com/index.php to go straight to your wordpress install. However if they are re-directing you have to handle that still ??

    Cheers,
    Chad

This helps Chad, thanks, I appreciate it. It is definitely the place I needed to go.

However, I just found out that the hosting package I am trying to install this to, is a Windows hosting platform. Network Solutions doesnt allow wordpress to run on a Windows hosting platform.

We now have to purchase the unix hosting, and hope for a refund on the windows hosting.

Thanks for your help and I added my reply here in case someone else has this same issue.
