plugins won't show up on on blog

    I need a plug in to add photos to my blog. I uploaded two different ones to my cpanel and unzipped them but they are not showing up on my blog to be activated. They are showing fine in my cpanel.

    Suddenly my photo editor on my blog quit working. All I get is coding and no photo.

    I am using an old version of WP, 2.7.1 but I am totally afraid to update to the newest version. I’ve looked at the manual instructions and they are way over my head.

    I’m wondering now if I’m just stuck with no photos on my blog or if I should just abandon the work of 4 years and start over!!

    Help!!
