• Forgive me if this has been hashed over many times over many years, however, I’m new to this and chose WP due to its reputation, ease of use and self hosting capabilities – I’m ready to use something else currently. I’ve spent days on this famous “5 minute installation” and found many posts and suggestions but none appear to be directly relevant. Remember too, I’m not into coding or programming so some of the tech-ese doesn’t help. Basically I have Windows 7 trying to install WP (not sure of the version – I assume it is most current) via Webmatrix 7.1 and was originally getting an error: Access denied for user ‘root’@’localhost’ (using password: YES). Now when I run from Webmatrix I’m getting an internal server error 500 pointing toward https://localhost:6811/wp-config.php. as well as another error both talking about permissions. I have uninstalled all of Windows matrix and reinstalled and checked and double checked passwords and names. still no success.

For something is supposed to be straight forward and easy it does not appear the solution to this issue (that many have indicated they have) is simple and to the point for the average user. Can anyone offer a direct solution to this issue (additional info can be provided as I’m sure this is not enough relevant info) rather than belittling the less tech savy or side stepping the issue with an irrelevant tangent. Thank you – It is much appreciated.
