[Plugin: WordPress Text Message] Other Event Triggers

Hello, I am curious if the plugin can be modified to act whenever some other item transpires.
Could it be made to send notices to subscribers for example whenever an event is posted with the plugin <a href=”https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/events-made-easy/” ?
Seems like an adjustment to the function mrt_sms_send_email($args) could get there but I don’t know enough about WordPress to know if an action in one plugin can trigger an event in another?
