Multisite and Buddypress admin issue

  • I am using the latest versions of both WordPress and Buddypress and have installed multisite.

    After installing Buddypress, the Buddypress admin showed up on the sub-sites (installed in sub-directories) as well prompting me to configure the component settings for each sub-site.

    I know the admin should only show up in the network panel, not even the main blog admin panel, since it is network activated.

    I’ve been struggling for a while and even created the bp-custom.php file, to no avail.

    One plugin that I am running which I think might cause a problem is the S2Member Pro plugin for memberships.

    Any ideas will be highly appreciated.

    Did you network activate buddyPress?

    Also you may get better traction posting this on buddypress.org – as this is NOT expected behavior.

    Yes, I did network activate Buddypress.

    You may be right. As Ipstenu pointed out, this is not default behavior for BP on WPMS.

    I suggest that you post at s2member pro forums as well. After all, the plugin is *supposed* to be compatible with BuddyPress. Perhaps this is a known issue or expected behavior(?).

    i have gotten rid of the s2member plugin, and also deactivated all other plugins, but for some reason the problem persists.

    Really strange.
    Have you upgraded to WP 3.3 and BP 1.5.2? What are your WP/BP versions?
    Are you on Linux or Windows server?
    How did you start out with BP and MS
    1) install WP, install BP, then create a network or
    2) install WP, create a network, then install BP?
