Comments not Posting Automatically

    I’ve looked through the settings on my blog and comments will not post automatically. They all have to have my OK in order for them to post to my blog. Moderation is off as far as I can tell but comments still need my OK to post.

    Does anyone have ideas as to how I can just have all comments about my articles post automatically?

    Hey mattd71,

    So did you go to Settings > Discussion
    and unticked “A comment is held for moderation” in “E-mail me whenever” section?

    I didn’t uncheck that box because I thought it was only to notify me if a comment is held for moderation but didn’t think it controlled actually holding comments for moderation? I’ll uncheck it and see what happens. Thank you for the help.

    I unticked it and had someone send a test post. It shows that its ready for approval in the backend of WordPress but isn’t showing up on the blog post. I have not idea what I need to uncheck so posts are no longer moderated. I don’t see anything that is checked that says that all posts are moderated. Do you know or maybe you can list all areas I need to look at? because there has to be a checkbox or something somewhere that I’m missing.

    Can you also check if “An administrator must always approve the comment” has been unticked? It’s in the “Before a comment appears” section.

    Thanks for the advice. I do have the “An administrator must always approve the comment” unticked. With the holiday weekend, I’m not sure if I had it unticked before people posted to my blog so I guess I’ll have to wait and see if the problem still occurs when someone posts a comment. I’ll let you know what happens. ??
