[Plugin: The WordPress Bar] Unexpected Output

On activation the plugin says:
The plugin generated 1576 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.
You may get a different number of characters. However, the plugin seems to install but will not output the WordPress Bar in active hyperlinks on Posts or Pages any longer. I tried several themes to see if it was that. It had worked with a previous theme. Not sure what changed.
It was a great plugin if it could be fixed.
