• My front page almost never refreshes. New posts don’t show up, or erratically a week later. Even when I delete the entire cache, the front page stubbornly stays put.

I have no fixed page set (though, maybe one is left over accidentally?), and took off. Also lock-down is off. caching method is htaccess.

After deleting the cache, how could the old page possibly still be served?

I sometimes suspect that some provider, on the way, cached it. But sometimes I test on lynx on the server itself, and it seems to serve the old page.

The sidebar widgets do not show the latest post, nor the latest comments.

Any other post usually gets refreshed. Looking at a post or a category listing is the only way to see new comments and the latest post.

  • probably that you think you delete the cache by hitting on the delete cache button, but it doesn’t and silently fails.

I have to chown the cache folder beforehand because it’s owned by nobody before being able to delete anything. Would be nice that the plugin tells the user that it cannot delete cache because of user restrictions/ file ownership.

Did you use the debug system in the plugin to figure out if the front page is removed when an update is done?

Do you have any other caching system like squid or varnish on your server?
