Video links appear as text at top of extract

    I am currently using Woo Themes Canvas and links to YouTube videos are displayed at top of excerpt as text. If I revert to twenty eleven it also happens

    Any ideas how to get rid of this? I am currently using hte embed code as a workaround but it is not as convenient

  • Excerpts that are created from the post content are stripped of all, or nearly all, formatting. The reason is that truncating the content to create an excerpt would probably cut off some tags in the middle of their scope, leading to broken HTML.

    The Advanced Excerpt plugin might do what you want.

    Thank you.
    As it turns out I had a plugin that was creating the problem and the solutionwas as simpleas deleting the offending plugin. Too bad it too so long to figure out.
    I don’t use the excerpt function for the reasons indicated in your suggestion.
