• We’re getting our first comments. Can the comments automatically go on to the site – we don’t want to moderate. Under Options we’ve “allowed users to comment” but then I have to check and moderate and approve the comments before they appear on the site.

  • What anti-spam measures do you have ?

They are highly recommended, and should also remove your problem.

We don’t have any kind of anti-spam, I think spam-karma would work for us. Just to be sure that I’m clear on this though – we’re getting comments that we WANT to immediately post to the blog, is it possible/advisable to allow that, or should I always expect to have to go on admin/maintain/comments and approve the comments?

    Get bad-behavior too.

Do you have a blacklist of comments words ? Or words that will cause moderation ? If so, check it has not got a blank line in there – that is the usual cause of what you are getting.

I agree with sararose15. I don’t want to moderate comments either. I would like to see comments instantly posted onto the blog. If there’s a problem, I can moderate them later. Surely there is an easy way to do this.

I guess I should add… I don’t (and I’m guessing sararose15 doesn’t either) have any sort of plugin for comments. It’s doing this by default.

Edit again — I just got it! You can turn it off, sararose15, I think. (I’m a total newbie to this as well, can you tell?). Under “Options” there are sub menus. Click on “Discussion.” I didn’t see them at first either.

Problem solved for me…. I think.
