• I have encountered problems with some plugins saying ‘cannot write to…’ and I’ve discovered that they are trying to write to a location on my old WP install, which was hosted on a different site. I recreated the site from scratch on the new host, created new SQL databases, updated PHPconfig to point to the correct database, but I still see the old directory name I had used on the previous site/install (specifically, the plug in is saying ‘unable to create directory /home/healthyw/…etc. when it should be pointing to /home/healthyworkplaces/…

Can anyone tell me what I’ve done wrong or need to change? There is no ‘healthyw’ on my current domain/host, and I had loaded a new install of WP and created new databases that do not have ‘healthyw’ in their names or parameters as far as I know.

Dumb! I see what it is and if anyone has the same problem this might help. In Settings/Media there is a field to direct uploads to. Mine was set to include the wrong path. Reverting to the WP default for this field solved the problem.

I’m still a bit curious how this setting, which I may have set on my old blog but definitely did not set on the new blog, was retained. The old blog, on another host, was removed. The new blog was not a move of the old files, but a rebuild of WP from the ground up. I did not import anything. Maybe cache?? No point, just curious now.
