[Plugin: BuddyPress Group Email Subscription] How to get Auto Follow / Autosubscribe working?

The way this plugin used to work was if you created a forum topic or replied to a topic you would get email notifications of all topic following yours.

Now the way it works is if you create a topic or reply to a topic you are still by default not following.

It worked really well for my users to have them auto follow the posts. Is that possible?
