Need a Twitter button that conforms to Twitter's "rate limits"

  • Twitter keeps disabling my account because I exceed the rate limit. I’m sending too many calls to them, going over the 150-hit/hr limit.

    Is anyone aware of a plugin that will tweet the title and URL but uses some kind of caching or throttling technique to reduce the calls to Twitter?

    I’ve been using Topsy and when I disable the plugin the warnings stop after a couple of hours, so that is currently creating the problem and can’t be used.

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

    Surely there are other sites besides mine who have enough traffic to keep tripping off the Twitter 150-hit per hour limit. How did you solve this problem?
