• First of all, I’ve read through as many of the posts on this topic as I could from the past 2 years.

I tried installing SABRE (the most recommended option), and it’s conflicting with something in my set-up so that *nobody* can register (I tried a dozen times myself).

I tried installing WP-ReCaptcha, but it hasn’t stopped a thing. I went away for a couple days and came back to an inbox full of new spam registrations.

I’m getting 5-10 of these a day, and I’m really starting to get frustrated. There are a lot of plugins that claim to block registration spam, but the reviews I’m reading on them are mixed. So, I’m asking for best options (given the limitations above) for stopping (at least most) registration spam, while still allowing real people to register.

    System setup:

    WP: (single-user) v3.2.1
    Theme: PRiNZ BranfordMagazine

    Plugins:
    Ad Codes Widget – v110523
    Ad Rotator – v2.0.3
    Aksimet (not activated) v2.5.3
All in One SEO – v1.6.10.2
    AWPCP – v1.8.6.4
    Contact Form 7 – v2.0.2
    Dashboard Notepads – v1.2.1
    Google XML Sitemaps – v3.2.2
    NextGEN Gallery – v1.7.3
    Statcounter – v1.6.1
Quick Review Post Access – v1.2
    WP-reCAPTCHA – v3.1.4
WP Pending Post Notifier (not activated) – v1.1
