    Hi
I have just done an automatic upgrade on the events calendar from 1.6.4 to 2.0.3 – now realise this is bad timing and need to back up etc before migrating.

I am trying to revert to the old version – I have downloaded this and tried to upload as per the instructions, but I get an error

Unpacking the package…Installing the plugin…Destination folder already exists

    when I try to install.

Can anyone help – very desperate to get our calendar back functioning

    Thank you

OK, I have now acheived this by deleting the upgraded version of the plugin and then installing the old version.
The old calendar and data are now there, but the formatting is gone ? How do I reapply the styles – I can’t find documentation for the old versions ?
    Thank you

Hey rainbowcentre, you should ALWAYS backup before doing big updates/downgrades like this where you could possibly lose customizations you had in place. Have you checked with your web host to see if they can provide you with an auto backup? That might be the easiest way to revert back to what you had before…

Otherwise, I would suggest hiring a developer to dig into this for you because it’s complicated.

Thanks for your reply, and really I know I should have backed up – but I don’t have access to do that and our hosts are a little difficult to get hold of (this is why I rolled back from the 2.0 upgrade once I realised that I had to migrate data). I am a volunteer, the website is for a charity and hiring a developer is not an option.

Could someone just point me in the right direction at some documentation – I need to style the calendar – I assume it needs a css file or something ? The hompage of the website has upcoming events on and these are styled correctly – I have the same template on both pages but not sure how to apply styles. PLEASE can someone help

    Thank you

Hey rainbowcentre. Sorry to hear about the problem you’re having; we feel your pain. If you wanted to style the calendar…depending on what you’re aiming to do, you’d modify either the events.css file or one of the .php files. If you open the readme.txt file for the free plugin, it should include some documentation on how to do a template override (which will allow for you to make these changes without risk of losing your update when jumping to the next update).

Hope that helps. Keep us posted and let me know if you need anything else.
