• It does a lot more than what I need. Unfortunately, what I need it does not do well.

The “Switch to mobile site” link is useful, but:

The admin page says “Both the footer link and the widget will only appear when a switcher mode is enabled”. I found that the link and widget did not behave the same way and I ended up using the footer link. It always appears (when is a switcher mode active?). I don’t want it on the desktop site, unless I have switched from the mobile site to the desktop site. I believe that this was the intended behavior, but like I said, I always get the link.

Giving the footer link a CSS class and wrapping it in a div would make it more skinnable.

On the iPad, the algorithm picks the desktop site, but on Android (3.x) tablets, I get the mobile site. For Android tablet users it is therefore important to have the switcher link and I can’t turn it off.

  • Which plugin are you talking about?

Also, plugins are developed by third party developers and are not part of WordPress core.

@fonglh: Both excellent points. Would someone care to delete my post from this forum please? I dont see a way to do this myself.

As a general rule, posts aren’t deleted from the forums.

If you would like to state which plugin you’re referring to, your feedback may still be valuable to the plugin developer.
