How to make posted comments wider? – Resolved

    Using WP 1.5.1.3

    I’ve tried to figure out which width value to alter to make comments that readers have posted a bit wider as to make better use of the page space, but have thus far failed.
    I did figure out how to make the comments form itself wider though.
    This is the Dark Maple theme by Mr. Moshu.

  • “Mr.” moshu says (while totally embarrassed) that you should modify the width of the div #test.
    (seemingly I forgot to give a more meaningful name to that div)

    by the way, if you are “Mrs. Moshu”, my apologies!

    Delete this from your CSS file:

    #test {
    width: 450px;
    }

    Viper, if #test is the actual value to change for the width, I’ll probably leave it in there to adjust till the width satisfies me?
    Would the comment text simply cover the whole width of the screen if I deleted it?

    edit: btw that header photo on your blog is really pretty!

    well, hmm… last time I checked I was a male… it’s just that this is the first time in this forum that somebody calls me “Mr” – LOL

    No, it won’t go full screen width, it’ll assume the width of it’s parent div. I just tried it using Web Developer even.

    Oh wow viper. I am going to give that a shot. I’ve got another extenstion for FF for CSS editing, but it’s very buggy. Learn something new everytime I come around here!
    Heh, I bought a big book on CSS a month ago and still haven’t opened it yet. Need to do that soon.

    Web Developer is like the best extension ever. Gotta love being able to edit remote CSS on the fly among other things. ??

    I can’t think of a better one – and I’ve tried/use a bunch.
