• Hello… I feel like I’ve tried every fix that’s been posted, but it’s still a “no-go”.

After I switched my site from .net to .com and moved my folders up from their nesting, everything else appears to be working fine with the exception of RSS.

    I’ve tried:
    ? Resaving Permalinks
    ? Disabling all Plugins
? Looking for extra lines at the end of my various .php files

Does anyone have any more clues? Banging my head against my desk… that doesn’t work either, btw.

    Thanks in advance!!

With your SOPA plug-in active I can’t check this for you.

Hi there, and thanks for your response! I’ll deactivate that SOPA plug-in in a moment.

Some new developments. Followed the suggestion of arkain283:

So what you need to do, is FTP you site, find your htaccess file (its under public_html). Right click on it (i use filezila) select file permisions, then check off read, write, execute for everything. The important this is to change “file permisions” for the htaccess file.

It will make more sense once you do it. Then go back in to WP, select setting -permalink, re-select your option, and save it. You should be all set, it should be https://www.yourdomain.com/feed. You should not get a 404 error anymore.

from: a post from two years ago.
And here’s what happened. As long as I leave the Permalinks set to default, when I select “Subscribe” my rss:
? shows up in FireFox (url: https://luminancecoaching.com/?feed=rss2)
? comes up in Chrome but is unformatted
    ? still shows a 404 in Safari.
When I set my Permalinks back to “Post name” all bets are off and I get nothing but 404’s. (url: https://luminancecoaching.com/feed/)
Somehow I feel the answer is as plain as the nose on my face… what am I missing?

    Thanks in advance!

First, please don’t leave your .htaccess file with all permissions open – that is security risk.

I can’t see an obvious reason for your problem. I am able to add your feed at https://luminancecoaching.com/feed/ but it is blank even though there are posts.

Since this is a commercial theme with its own functionalities and support system, I do recommend you contact the theme developer for assistance, over at the Thesis support site – they are best placed to help you. Good luck!

    Thanks, locked up the htaccess.

I’ll try contacting Thesis support and see what they say! I’ll report back here when I find a solution in case it’s of use to anyone else.

    Thanks again!

Well… the people at Thesis theme are sure that this issue is WordPress related.
Resetting the Permalinks to default now works across all browsers, but resetting back to “Page name” still returns the missing page error.
The hypothesis from Thesis is that

the WordPress rewrite rules for feed URLs are not working correctly for some reason — but the “why” is still a mystery to me.

    Here’s a link to that conversation, if you’re interested…

So… I’m still looking for clues if anyone wants in on this one!

    Thanks again!
