Custom gallery 3 column layout – right direction?
-
Hi,
I haven’t touched WP in years (since 2004, I believe). I just tried it out yesterday and I think I have some things figured out but I just want to make sure I’m not heading in the wrong direction.I’ve created a basic theme. There are two basic templates.
One template is a three-column layout.
The other template is a single column layout, meant to use a JQuery gallery. For the three column layout, I want the content entry for each column to be easy and user-friendly so I’m not opting for Custom Fields. Instead, I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to use Meta/Write Boxes so entry in the admin panel is smooth and then output the content in my template.
As for the gallery, would it be alright if I simply post the images with the content and then use get_children() in my gallery template to format the images appropriately, and thereafter use JQuery to enable the gallery functions.
Am I headed in the right direction?
