local time doesn't change with timezone change in admin

  • just as it states, something has happened to my clients WP site and i can’t find the problem (i was finished with my tasks, so it’s nothing i did that i can backtrack).

    his comments dates and the local time in admin is not changing with the Time Zone setting change. the dropdown retains its value, but it doesn’t affect the actual current time. happens to be off by 5 hours, but this shouldn’t matter since the setting doesn’t affect a change anyway.

    can someone offer some help with this? i’ve searched the world and can only find similar issues in WP from 6 years ago. :o)
