• I changed under the settings to a static page and changed it my blog page but not my blog won’t load at all. What should the settings be for the blog link to work. I have the blog link as a page with my link to https://blog.alexwebsterdesigns.com/. Should I have it this way or should I just make it as a normal page and then make the posts underneath that page. I tried calling godaddy and they wouldn’t do anything to help.

  • If you don’t have a custom blog front page I would revert away from the Static Page setting.

What I am trying to do when a person clicks on Blog on my website, they get sent to blog.alexwebsterdesigns.com/ but when they go onto my blog, I want them to have it so that the blog page is selected as the current page that they are on but when I first made the page links, home and blog were both selected.

So are you keeping your main site out of WordPress?

It depends how the theme is construct, generally sometimes to get what page you’re on takes a little bit of hacking around with php.

is_page() and is_home() are two functions I look at when I need to figure out what page I’m on.

Hope this at least points you in the right direction.

Yes my home page is coded in html and css for my web class but I did my blog in wordpress because I haven’t had a chance to code a blog on my own. I think I figured it out but I am not sure

I found that I had the link as my blog and it redirected itself until it timed out. How can I make it so that the blog link is https://blog.alexwebsterdesigns.com but when I click on the link to my site it goes to the page on my blog without redirecting.
