    Hi all,

Every page I pull up to add an FB button to my blog refers to a plugin function that I was told WordPress no longer offers. Can anyone point me to a widget that would help me add this feature to my blog? Thanks.

  • Have you looked for any other plugins? What about this one – https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/facebook-like-button/

I personally prefer the add this plugin -https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/addthis/

    Hi Christine,

That’s the problem, my dashboard doesn’t offer a plugin option. I was told that plugins aren’t even a part of WordPress anymore. I use 3.3.1, am I missing something?

Not sure who told you that plugins are no longer part of WordPress. That is not correct. If you no longer see the plugins, then perhaps you’re not logged in as an administrator. Did someone else set this up for you? If so, get them to change your role to admin.

Your site is a self hosted site right? You’re not on wordpress.com?

I’m definitely logged in as an admin. After Appearance my next menu is Users…nothing in between. I set up my own blog in November and have had no issues except this one. I’ve set up about 10 widgets which work fine. I’ve altered code through CSS to fix hyperlinks and apply different colors to text.

I may be confused about plugins–before now I’ve only tried to use Amazon Associates, which I know WP doesn’t allow. Now this is seeming even odder…am I using the right version of WordPress?

But what about my other question?

    What’s your url?

    I assume it’s canyouhelpmeimlost.wordpress.com

You cannot upload themes or plugins to a wordpress.com site. These forums are for self-hosted WordPress sites only. Please try asking any further questions on https://en.forums.wordpress.com/

Yes! It’s also bedstuychick.com. Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it, guys. I’ll go to the other forum.

FYI: bedstuychick.com just points straight to your wordpress.com site. It’s where the sites are actually hosted that makes all of the difference.

    Gotcha. Thanks!
